Shield Form Factor

To attach Shields successfully, one must know how to place it. This is called the Shield Form Factor. This is where the shield must have the same-form factor as the standard Arudino. Power and ground pin on one eight pin header and analog pins on a six header next to that. Some shields may require a connection to the ICSP header.

The picture above is a representation of what an Arduino looks like. Some shield may use all pins, only will use  a few. It is very important to watch how a user stack the different shields. It is very important to make sure that the pins do not overlap.
